Coronation Ceremonies (Anointing Only)
The anointing rite of the coronation ceremony is available by Metropolitan Archbishop David Leon Cooper upon request. Candidates must be of a royal bloodline or appropriately elected by nobility with royal bloodlines and/or investiture by one with the royal bloodline.
Candidates must submit documentation to the archdiocese. The candidate must appoint Metropolitan Archbishop David Leon Cooper as archbishop of their grand duchy, principality, kingdom or royal entity in exile such as a royal military order.
Exceptions:
+++David Leon Cooper, Metropolitan Archbishop, may only require that the candidate appoint him as Spiritual Prior or Grand Cross Chaplain for the Sovereign Military Order if:
- The candidate is Roman Catholic; OR
- (2) The candidate is also a valid bishop.
The candidate must profess Jesus Christ, be morally pure, and declare the same in writing.
Only the traditional anointing by the archbishop will be included in the ceremony unless the candidate will actually be a head of state. A Certificate of Coronation/Anointing will be issued by the Metropolitan Archbishop.
The spiritual significance of the anointing of sovereigns is discussed in:The Spiritual and Apostolic Nature of Royal Selection in the Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church
.This paper basically proves, via historical cases and other information, that the spiritual anointing is more significant and superior to bloodlines and by extension the notion of "fons honorum" conceived by men.
Only the Anointing with Holy Chrism in the rite is performed. It is only for the blessing of the House and the Sovereign Order of Chivalry associated with it. It is a blessing of the Sovereign as Grandmaster.
